Republican Legislators Announce Life Sciences Proposal

Missouri House Speaker Catherine Hanaway of Warson Woods and Senate Leader Peter Kinder of Cape Girardeau have announced a major University of Missouri life sciences economic development proposal to create knowledge-based jobs and stimulate economic growth in the state. The measure calls for development and upgrade of higher education facilities in St. Louis, Columbia, Rolla, and Kansas City using $190-Million in bonds. The investment is projected to return almost $1-Billion in federal and private research funds.
