The Blues ended a four game winless streak with a 3-2 win at Columbus. Ryan Johnson was the hero, scoring the winning goal with 3:44 to go in the game—it was the first game-winning goal of his career. The Blues also got goals from Doug Weight, who tied the game 1-1 in the first period and Keith Tkachuk who gave St. Louis a 2-0 lead in the second period. Todd Marchant’s power play goal early in the third tied it up for Columbus. Goaltender Chris Osgood was forced to leave the game after being hit with a puck in the third by Bryce Salvador. Brent Johnson entered the game and stopped 22 saves. The Blues have beaten the Blue Jackets in all three meetings this year but all have been close—the first two wins came in overtime. The Blues are two points behind the Red Wings for first place in the Central Division.
