A Republican Senate leadership memo that was supposed to be secret has worked its way to the public and Governor Bob Holden says it shows Republicans are not interested in solving state problems as much as they are interested in getting him out of the governorship. The memo to Senate leaders from their consultant recommends an aggressive two-week legislative campaign that dominates news coverage with Republican plans and downgrades Governor Holden’s proposals – which he won’t announce until his State of the State message January 20th. Holden lashes back at Republican tactics. And, he charges Republican legislators have kept him from using the tools he needs to use to deal with state financial problems.
