The Blues would probably like to live in a world that didn’t include the Red Wings. No matter what they’re doing—or how well they’re doing it—Detroit has been St. Louis’ ultimate party-pooper. The Red Wings ended the Blues nine-game unbeaten streak with a 2-1 win in Detroit. St. Louis got on the board first, when Dallas Drake scored at the 8:52 mark. Just three minutes later, it was tied, when Pavel Datsyuk scored on Chris Osgood. It remained tied until the Ray Whitney scored on a goal assisted by Brett Hull with 5:15 to go. It was the Blue’s first loss since November 29–that loss also came courtesy of the Red Wings. In four games against Detroit this season, St. Louis is 1-2-1 and they trail the Red Wings by four points in the Central Division.
