The Missouri Department of Economic Development is reporting positive signs that the state’s economy is rebounding from the national recession. Economic Development Director Joe Driskill’s update on the economy shows strong signs of recovery in a wide variety of indicators, including employment. Driskill points out that between January and October of this year, Missouri employment rose by 18,000 – ranking it among the top third in the nation in job growth so far during 2003. The state’s seasonally-adjusted jobless rate for November fell another three-tenths of a point to 5 percent.
