College of the Ozarks is shutting down its aviation mechanics program. The school says large increases in insurance premiums after the terrorist attacks in 2001 make the program unaffordable. The flight training program will continue, but the program that gives a degree in aviation mechanics will be phased out as students in the program graduate. The School of the Ozarks is at Point Lookout, across the river from Branson.
