The Blues remain red-hot. They topped the Sharks 4-2 last night to win their sixth straight game and extend their unbeaten streak to eight games. Scott Mellanby struck first for St. Louis with a goal at the 7:07 mark of the first period. Patrick Marleau tied it up with a second period goal. But Chris Pronger gave the Blues the lead for good with a power play goal at the 12:45 mark. Jamal Mayers made it 3-1, scoring on a short-handed effort 4:19 later. Mellanby notched his second strike of the game in teh third period. Keith Tkachuk was everyone’s best friend, assisting on three goals. In net, Chris Osgood stood steady, sending away 27 shots on goal. The Blues now find themselves a point out of first in the Central division.
