Jefferson City has become the third Missouri city to ban smoking in restaurants. It joins Springfield and Maryville in passing a restaurant anti-smoking ordinance. Smoking is still allowed in resturants that make at least half their income from alcohol sales. Smoking also will be allowed in pool halls, bowling alleys, and restaurant rooms leased for social functions. The ordinance goes into effect in six months.
