Keith Tkachuk’s overtime goal gave the Blues their fifth straight win—they topped the Blue Jackets in St. Louis 2-1. Columbus got on the board first, thanks to a power play goal by Andrew Cassels. It stayed 1-0 until the 6:46 mark of the third period, when Dallas Drake tied it up with a power play goal of his own. Later in the period, the Blues missed a golden opportunity when Derrick Walser was called for a double minor high sticking penalty against Mike Danton, but failed to score on the man-advantage. In overtime it remained 1-1 until Tkachuk scored his team-leading 16th goal with 42.7 seconds to go. Overtime is getting to be old hat for the Blues; they’ve gotten three of their last four victories in the extra period. Chris Osgood was solid in goal, giving up just one goal and it was on a power play. Dallas Drake scored the goal for the Blues, as they moved to within a point of the Red Wings in the Central Division.
