University of Missouri System President Elson Floyd will not be resigning over the controversy surrounding former basketball player Ricky Clemons. Clemons, whoserved time behind bars for an assault on his former girlfriend, has claimed that he and other players were paid to play. Furthermore, Floyd’s wife developed a friendshipwith Clemons and advised him to only date black women. Floyd says that while he’ll apologize for his wife’s comments he has no intention of stepping down from his job. Floyd made the comments during a University Board of Curators meeting in Kansas City.
