Children’s Support Groups Prepare For Legislative Session

December 11, 2003 By admin Leave a Comment

Organizations advocating state support for children’s programs have come up with a limited humber of issues to push in next year’s Legislature. Citizens for Missouri’s Children will focus on bills protecting abused and neglected children, providing early education opportunities; maintain medical and mental health servicesfor children and families, and providing more support for working families. Policy Director Rith Ehresman says it’s important for advocates for children’s services to be together. The other priority is assuring adequate state revenues for children’s program. She says that’s the priority that will require the most courage by lawmakers.
