The Maryland Heights company that produces Duncan Hines baking mixes, Lender’s bagels, and Celeste Pizza has filed for bankruptcy protection. Aurora Foods says the filing lets it continue its merger plans with Pinnacle Foods Corporation – a company that makes Open Pit barbecue sauce and Vlasic pickles. Aurora says it has gotten $50-Million from banks to keep oeprating. Aurora Foods has about 200 workers in the St. Louis area. Their futures are uncertain.
