A state official has reportedly been asked to resign possibly because of a campaign donation. The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports Governor Holden has asked the Executive Director of the Missouri Commission on Human Rights, Donna Cavitte, to resign. The request comes not long after it was discovered Cavitte donated $100 to the Claire McCaskill for Governor Campaign. According to the newspaper’s article, Cavitte cannot resign unless the Commission meets. The Commission cancelled a meeting scheduled for today. A Holden spokesperson says it is a story planted in a gossip column by the McCaskill campaign and that the Governor probably does not even know Cavitte. Calls to Cavitte have not been returned.
