Effort To Remove St. Joseph Mayor Ends In Failure

December 3, 2003 By admin Leave a Comment

The ouster effort against St. Joseph Mayor David Jones has fizzled. Backers of a recall petition have failed to submit their petitions on time. Organizers needed about four-thousand signatures. One had predicted the group would get seven-thousand. The petition campaign organizers have not said how many signatures they actually got. The campaign started last summer when a trash referendum did not get certified soon enough to be on the November ballot. The group also charged Jones had mishandled annexation efforts.
