The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention are targeting homeless shelters in St. Louis for tuberculosis-prevention efforts. The CDC says 15 active cases of the disease have been reported in homeless shelters there in the last two years. Statewide, Missouri counted 136 tuberculosis cases last year, the lowest total in the 60 years the state has kept those records.
