It’s been a month since the Internal Revenue Service started circulating word that hundreds of advance child tax credit checks had been bounced back to it by the post office. Wrong address, no forwarding order, undeliverable. Spokesman Kris Moore says the initial response was good, but the IRS is still holding $618,000in 1,400 checks for Missourians. Anybody who is entitled to a check by the end of the year – but who hasn’t gotten it – needs to contact the IRS by Friday.
