The Chiefs clinched a share of the AFC West division title on Sunday by slipping past San Diego 28-24. Priest Holmes starred offensively for Kansas City. He carred the ball 31 times, picking up 162 yards and two touchdowns. Trent Green threw a pair of TD passes to Tony Gonzalez. The Chargers threatened in the fourth quarter, but Chargers quarterback Doug Flutie turned the ball over twice, with one leading to the Chiefs winning score. San Diego actually outgained KC 370-335, but the Chiefs won to move to 11-1. The Broncos’ win at Oakland prevented the Chiefs from winning the AFC West title outright. The Chiefs can win their first division championship and wrap up their first playoff berth since 1997 with a win at Denver next week.
