SLU, SEMO Both 2-0, SMS Falls

The St. Louis University basketball team is now 2-0 thanks to some stingy defense. The Billikens held Savannah State to just 10 points on 4-for-25 shooting in the first half in Monday night’s contest. Savannah State didn’t score for the first 11:22. SLU cruised to a 73-33 win. For the game, Savannah State shot just 23.5 percent from the floor. Josh Fisher led all scorers with 17 points. Chris Sloan added 14 points for the Billikens. Southeast Missouri State moved to 2-0 with an 83-51 win over Kentucky Christian. Brett Hale led the Indians with 18 points. Kentucky Christian shot just 30 percent from the floor. The SMS Bears lost to South Carolina 77-64 in the semifinals of the Guardians Classic. SMS plays the University of San Francisco tonight for third place.
