November 24, 2003 By admin Leave a Comment

The man who first tipped off reporters that a state tax credit program might be abused is expected to testify today (Mon) before the Joint Committee on Tax Policy that’s looking into the reports. Committee members will hear from Rick Russell of Steelville, who claims the owner of a St. Louis computer business offered to help him fake a computer purchase so he could get $75,000 in tax credits. He reported the offer to the state. The Attorney General’s office has launched an investigation. The committee also is investigating the reports.
