A turkey from a farm near Carthage will not go under the knife on Thanksgiving Day. It is this year’s National Thanksgiving Turkey and will go to the White House. But for 56 years, Presidents have issued pardons to the National Turkey instead of inviting them to the Presidential table for lunch. Turkeys that are pardoned are sent to a farm in Virginia where they live out their lives in comfort.
