UMKC Loses In Pre-Season NIT

UMKC opened their season with a first-round game of the Pre-Season NIT at Minnesota. Despite leading for the better part of the first half, the ‘Roos lost to the Gophers 78-67. Michael Watson finished fourth in the nation with 25.5 points per game last season. His senior year started with a thud, going 3-19 from the floor and scoring just eight points. UMKC shot 36.4% from the field in the loss. They’ll be back in action November 29, when they host Norfolk St. at Municipal Auditorium.
