The Missouri High School football semifinals are set after 16 games got underway in soggy conditions last night. Kearney and Grandview were delayed by an hour-and-a-half and were the last game to finish. Kearney’s, quest for a second straight title is in tact after a 55-20 win. They’ll face another perennial Class 4 powerhouse as Webb City advanced with a 29-15 win over Nixa. They’ll play at Webb City. The other match up in Class 4 will feature Wentzville Holt at Ladue Horton Watkins. In Class 3, Chillicothe’s jubilation turned to disappointment in just five days. They knocked off Platte County–ending their 52-game winning streak–in the sectionals. On Monday they fell to Richmond 6-0. Richmond is on the road against Harrisonville. Ste. Genevieve travels to Owensville in the other semifinal game in Class 3. In Class 2, Centralia continues to destroy everything in its path. They topped Blair Oaks 38-7. In 12 games they’ve allowed 44 points. Centralia will travel to Caruthersville. Springfield Catholic will host Lawson. Three of the four teams remaining in Class 1 are undefeated. At least one of them will go home Saturday when Tipton hosts Marionville. Princeton is the other perfect team and they travel to Santa Fe.
