This week has been declared Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve in Missouri as well as across the nation. This week has been set aside to recognize the sacrifices Missouri employers are required to make when their employees are activated to military service, such as making sure those employees still have a job when they return.Loretta Charleston, State Executive Director for the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve, says most employers follow the laws, and any violations are usually just a lack of awareness. Charleston adds that many employers go beyond the call of duty and do more than they have to. This week’s proclamation is a nationwide coordinated effort.
