The St. Louis Blues knew their winning streak would come to a close sometime, but they certainly could have made an even more impressive mark with a win last night. They wrapped up a four-game west-coast swing with a 4-3 loss to the Ducks. Brent Johnson allowed two goals in 49 seconds to give Anaheim a 2-0 lead in the first. But Petr Cajanek and Pavol Demitra scored to tie it up before the first intermission. Steve Rucchin and Eric Nickulas swapped goals late in the second period and the game was tied 3-3 going into the third. Rucchin scored at the 4:54 mark of the third period to give Anaheim the lead and the eventual win. The Blues were 3-1 on their road trip and return to St. Louis with a three-point lead over Detroit in the Central Division.
