Attorney General Jay Nixon is calling on the State Supreme Court to, in his words, “act now to stop the delaying tactics” by opponents of the State’s conceal and carry gun law. Nixon’s office has filed a brief with the Supreme Court, complaining that opponents who have succeeded in convincing a St. Louis City Circuit Judge to issue a permanent injunction against implementation of the law, are stalling. Nixon is appealing the injunction and has asked for a hearing on December 3rd, while the plaintiffs in the suit say won’t be ready until February 9th at the earliest. The law was to have gone into effect on Octoner 11th on the heels of an override of Governor Holden’s veto.
