Clayton High School in St. Louis County loses round one in the courts in its effort to get into a football playoff game scheduled for tonight. A St. Louis County Circuit Judge has refused to issue an order which would have allowed Clayton to play. The school, which won nine games this season, had to forfeit its victories and was ruled ineligible after it was learned the team’s quarterback, Jairus Byrd, does not live in the Clayton School District. A lawsuit filed in federal court remains undecided. Two teams, including the school that moved into the spot that would have been occupied by Clayton, are waiting to see whether their game will go ahead.
