Senator Christopher Bond pays tribute to the nation’s veterans as he prepares to present the U.S. Senate with an appropriations bill that calls for additional money to veterans health care. Bond took advantage of the Veterans Day holiday to use a floor speech to promote the Bush Administration war on terrorism. Bond, Chairman of the Veterans Administration-Housing and Urban Development Subcommittee, is scheduled present the veterans appropriations bill to the full Senate today. The bill includes an additional $1.3-Billion for veterans health care. Bond says observance of Veterans Day must be backed up by action in Congress. Bond says he has heard from many veterans that they aren’t receiving the medical care they need, adding that it’s the responsibility of the country to meet the needs of those who have sacrificed so much to insure its freedom.
