The SMS Bears will host the Knox Raiders of Australia in exhibition play tonight at the Hammons Center. The Raiders feature a face familiar to Bear fans. Matt Rueter was known as a blue-collar player during his days in Springfield. After his playing days were over in 2001, he found his way to Australia, where be became the Australian Basketball Association’s MVP during his rookie year in 2002. Reuter averaged 28 points and 14 rebounds per contest. An injury cost Rueter most of his second season. Rueter played his high school basketball at Fulton High School.
