The Chiefs have done it again. With 420 yards worth of offense and a stifling second half defense, Kansas City beat Cleveland 41-20 at Arrowhead Stadium. Trent Green passed for 368 yards and three touchdowns, upping the Chiefs’ record to 9-0. Green’s favorite target was Eddie Kennison, who he hit seven times for 115 yards and one of the touchdown strikes. After taking a 27-17 lead into the locker room at half time, the Chiefs’ defense buckled down and allowed just three points the rest of the way. Cleveland gained just 169 yards on the day. Priest Holmes had another impressive day, gaining 158 yards from scrimmage. 92 yards came in the form of 19 rushing attempts; the other 66 were the result of seven receptions. Holmes scored twice on runs of one and nine yards. With the win, Kansas City has a four game lead over the Broncos—who are 5-4—with seven games to go in the regular season. The Chiefs will be on the road in Cincinnati this week.
