A St. Louis Circuit Court Judge has permanently barred implementation of the State’s conceal and carry gun law. In issuing his permanent injunction, Judge Steven Ohmer says the law violates the State Constitution. The Attorney General’s Office has already launched an appeal of the ruling to the State Supreme Court. It’s asking the Court to expedite the matter in order to have it resolved as quickly as possible. Governor Bob Holden has issued a statement, saying Judge Ohmer took the appropriate action by preventing the law from taking effect. State Representative Larry Crawford of California, the sponsor of the legislation in the Missouri House, expects the Supreme Court will rule that the law is constitutional.
