According to state, federal, and Kansas City officials everybody in Missouri wins as a result of the decision by American Airlines to keep open its maintenance overhaul base at Kansas City International Airport. The move will protect the 1,700 jobs at the KCI facility. In exchange for the agreement, Kansas City will offer $40-Million in bonds to the carrier, while the state is offering tax credits and incentives worth as much as $10-Million, and Senator Christopher Bond says the federal government willcome through, as well, with a pledge for $5-Million for renovations at the plant. American has signed a lease that will keep the facility at KCI for the next 25 years.
