Filing Date Arrives For Missouri’s Presidential Primaries

October 21, 2003 By admin Leave a Comment

Today is the day presidential candidates can file for Missouri’s primary election set for February 3rd next year not a March date as in the past. Spence Jackson, a spokesman in the Secretary of State’s office the lead agency for elections in this state believes having the Missouri primary earlier is better. Jackson believes Missouri’s earlier primary, only behind Iowa and New Hampshire in the presidential sweepstakes, will set it apartand bring more attention to the state, as opposed to years past when Missouri was part of March’s “Super Tuesday” when many states have to fight for candidates’ attentions.
