A new study confirms the state’s parks and historic sites brings hundreds of millions of dollars into the Missouri economy. University of Missouri researchers conclude the state park and historic site system generates $538-Million annually. The study discovered visitors spent$410-Million at the various sites and once the money turns over in the economy, it produces an impact exceeding half a billion dollars. Tracey Berry with the Division of Tourism says historic sites and parks have become more popular. Most of the visitors to those sites are Missourians, whileabout a quarter come from out of state to spend an estimated $100-Million.
