Governor Bob Holden is again taking aim at the State Chamber of Commerce over the Chamber’s criticism of Missouri’s economic performance. In a column written for Missouri newspapers, the Governor says that while the state is seeing clear signs of economic recovery, the Chamber tells the wrong story by playing up the negatives. Dan Mehan, President of the Chamber, says the business group is not making up information – only commenting on reports that are available. He says we have seen an unfortunate trend in which the Governor goes after the Chamber of Commerce, adding that does not solve any problems. Mehan adds Governor Holden should be working to improve the economy, rather than attacking those who comment on economic concerns.
