The University of Nebraska has suspended junior cornerback Kellen Huston for this weekend’s game against Texas A&M for punching a Missouri fan after the Tigers 41-24 win over the Cornhuskers Saturday night. Fans rushed Faurot Field after the game and as Matthew Scott passed Huston on the turf, Huston punched him in the face. KOMU TV of Columbia captured the incident on tape. Yesterday Huston apologized saying; “I would never intentionally bring harm to another individual.” Nebraska head coach Frank Solich didn’t defend Huston’s actions, but he didn’t lay all the blame on Huston, “I believe he reacted to what he thought was a threatening situation that happened in less than a second.” Scott, who is not an MU student and lives in Lee’s Summit, filed charges against Huston with the University of Missouri Police Department.
