A grocery store strike has entered its second week in St. Louis and seems to be spreading across the country. 10,000 members of United Food and Commercial Workers Local 655 in St. Louis have been picketing 97 stores operated by three supermarket chains. Now, more than 70,000 grocery workers in Southern California are out on strike, and 3,300 from West Virginia, Ohio and Kentucky have joined the picket lines. The dispute centers on health-care benefits.
