It’s time to lace those skates up tight and hit the ice. The St. Louis Blues open their 37th NHL season tonight. The Blues are in Phoenix to face the Coyotes. The Blues are coming off an encouraging preseason in which they went 6-2-1. St. Louis also has a healthy Chris Pronger back in the lineup. Pronger played in just five regular season games last year while battling wrist and knee injuries. The Blues aren’t injury free, however. Both Scott Mellanby and Dallas Drake will miss the first two games of the season. Mellanby has a rib injury, while Drake was hit in the face by a puck last week. Mark Rycroft and Eric Nickulas take their spots on the roster. The Blues were 2-1-1 against the Coyotes last year. Faceoff for tonight’s game is at 9:00.
