Missouri’s new 24-hour waiting period abortion law will not go into effect on Saturday. A federal judge says he will issue an injunction blocking the new law. Planned Parenthood wants the law declared unconstitutional, saying it is so vague that doctors might be prosecuted anytime they do an abortion. Federal judge Scott Wright will hold a hearing next year to decide whether his injunction should become permanent. Backers of the law say they expect the state to appeal the judge’s ruling.
