The State Department of Economic Development launches a workforce development conference today aimed at improving the skills of Missouri’s workforce and expanding economic growth. Hundreds of business and human resource professionals, educators, and employment and training agency staff from are taking part in the three-day event at Lake of the Ozarks. Rick Beasley, Director of the Division of Workforce Development, says the various regions and industries involved are being treated on a region-by-region and industry-by-industry basis. Beasley says the “one size fits all” approach just doesn’t work. The conference, which runs through Friday, is both a training seminar and a learning opportunity. It includes informative presentations about job search, job placement, retention and wage growth strategies.
