Wilkins Named NFC Special Teams Player Of The Month

October 3, 2003 By admin Leave a Comment

St. Louis Rams kicker Jeff Wilkins has been named NFC Special Teams Player of the Month for September. Wilkins is perfect in 10 extra point attempts this season. He has connected on a team-record 207 consecutive PAT’s. He’s nearly as good from three-point range, having nailed 10 of 11 field goals. Wilkins also leads all NFC kickers in scoring, and is tied for second in the NFL with 40 points. Wilkins has four touchbacks, ranking him first in the conference and fourth in the NFL. Wilkins is the first Ram to win such an award since Marshall Faulk was named NFC Offensive Player of the Month in December 2001.
