The St. Louis Blues got the best of Minnesota 2-0 in exhibition play. Mark Rycroft and Scott Mellanby scored in the first period for the games only goals. Chris Osgood stopped 21 shots for the shut out. The game was played at Ralph Engelstad Arena, which houses the University of North Dakota hockey team. The Blues recalled former North Dakota star Jeff Panzer for one game so he could play in front of his college fans. The Blues have Fighting Sioux on the roster including defenseman Murray Baron and forward Ryan Johnson. The Blues improved to 5-1-1 on the pre season. They play road games at Columbus tomorrow and Nashville on Saturday before opening the regular season at Phoenix a week from Friday. Their first home game is October 18th against Washington.
