Isle Of Capri Makes Bid For President Casino In St. Louis

Isle of Capri Casino Company is offering to buy the bankrupt President Casino in St. Louis for $50-Million. The President is on the Admiral Riverboat on the St. Louis riverfront. Officials from St. Louis City and County have been talking about finding a new owner for the President, and getting a new casino in south St. Louis County. Officials say a single owner of the President and of the proposed new casino might make state licensing of the new casino easier. Isle of Capri runs casinos in Boonville and Kansas City. Its effort to put a casino in Jefferson County was shot down by local opposition.
