A woman accused of fraudulently taking money in connection with the September 11th terrorist attacks has been sentenced to 21 months in prison. 42-year-old Cassaundrea Montgomery of St. Joseph has admitted to making up a brother and reported him missing following the attacks. She had received nearly $64,000 worth of relief fund payments. She pleaded guilty to four counts of mail fraud, and the judge also ordered her to pay back the money collected. The judge called the sentence appropriate for her “heinous, twisted” crimes.
