Internet betting is becoming more and more popular and, it’s something the Missouri Gaming Commission is watching closely. Internet gambling is a multi-million dollar enterprise. And, some of that money is being spent by Missourians. Kevin Mullally, the Executive Director of the Missouri Gaming Commission, says that while a good deal of the traditional illegal gambling market is tied to slot machines this illegal gambling centers primarily onsporting events. Mullally says that while the Commission isn’t taking a stand on whether the state should get involved in this business, he believes it’s something with which state lawmakers should be familiar. Mullally saysbetting on sports events is a reality of life – as seen in everything from office pools for pro football games to pools for the college basketball championship – and the state should at least discuss the idea of making itlegal and regulating it to some degree.
