For the first time since the Legislature passed a law against cockfighting five years ago, law enforcement officers have raided a place, hauled off some roosters, and arrested somebody. McDonald County Sheriff’s Officers have gone to a farm near Goodman, have confiscated more than a half-dozen gamecocks, and have arrested a man on suspicion of breeding roosters for cockfighting. A spokesman says it’s believed the man trained the roosters there, and took them to other states where cockfighting is still legal.
