Governor Appoints Commission To Reduce Medical Mistakes

September 23, 2003 By admin Leave a Comment

A state commission to reduce medical mistakes has been appointed by Governor Bob Holden. It has 17 members and is called the Commission on Patient Safety. Holden says the commission can help reduce mistakes that lead to higher mapractice insurance premiums. But he says it is not a replacement for new laws that could limit medical malpractice lawsuits. Holden vetoed a bill a few weeks ago that put restrictions on medical malpractice cases. He said the Legislature had made it too broad.
