The Kansas City Council’s decision to start offering domestic partner benefits to city employees is being challenged by a group that says the plan violates traditional family values. The Famly Values Association hopes go get 2,600 petition signatures to put the issue before voters in Kansas City. The group wants the city charter to say healthcare benefits could only be for employees, their spouses, and their lawful dependents.
