Southwest Missouri State has released its 2004 baseball schedule. The Bears play eight home games at Price Cutter Park before opening the new 8,000-seat Hammons Field on April 2 against Southern Illinois. SMS plays 16 home games at Hammons Field. The Bears will also host the Missouri Valley Tournament for the first time in school history. The tournament will be played at Hammons Field May 26-29. The Bears went 40-26 in 2003 and made their first ever appearance at the College World Series.
