The leader of the state’s association of cities says community leaders throughout the state hadn’t been paying much attention to what was in the concealed weapons law. But now that it is on the books, they have a lot of questions about what to do with it. Gary Markenson, Executive Director of the Missouri Municipal League, says cities want to know what power they have under the law. He says they seem to have little power, although they can ban concealed weapons in municipal buildings. But, apparently, they cannot ban the weapons on city property, such as parks.
