Albert Pujols has reached the 200-hit mark yet again. He went 3-4 and improved his batting average to .367 as the Cardinals beat the Brewers 6-5. Pujols has belted at least 200 hits in each of his three seasons in the majors. He also drove in a run last night, to give him 123 this season. The Cards jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning and never looked back. Sterling Hitchcock got the win improving to 4-4 on the season. He lasted into the sixth inning allowing four runs off four hits and five walks. Jason Simontacchi, Jeff Fassero, Cal Eldred and Jason Isringhausen held the Brewers hitless and didn’t allow a walk the rest of the way. Isringhausen got his 18th save. St. Louis still trails the Astros by five games.
